Muslim Malaise, Or: Jimmy Carter, your work is not yet done
by hulk
So there was this big Islamic conference last week in Malayasia. Malayasian Prime Minister Mathahir, while giving a speech at the conference, said the following: “We are actually very strong, 1.3 billion people cannot be simply wiped out. The Europeans killed six million Jews out of 12 million, but today the Jews rule the world by proxy. They get others to fight and die for them.” Um… Zieg Heil there, Mathahir.
I’m sure I spelled that wrong. Anyway, here’s my problem. Muslim countries seem content to blame their problems on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, just like Bin Laden uses the conflict to build its power base. By concentrating on some major conflict in the middle east (especially a religious one), Muslim governments can divert concern away from their own affairs and “blame the Jews”. I know what you’re thinking, generalizations are wrong and I shouldn’t group Muslim countries together like that. To clarify, I’m talking about Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Malayasia… I’m sure I’m forgetting several. The Prime Minister also said, “We need guns and rockets, bombs and warplanes, tanks and warships for our defense.”. For what…? Continued, “For well over half a century we have fought over Palestine. What have we achieved? Nothing. We are worse off than before. If we had paused to think then we could have devised a plan, a strategy that can win us final victory.”
Final Victory? Ahem. Final Solution? Anyone? Anyone? “It cannot be that there is no other way. 1.3 billion Muslims cannot be defeated by a few million Jews.” WHAT?! Where is this shit coming from? When you start making comparisons about numbers, you *know* you’re talking about a war. “They invented… human rights and democracy, so that persecuting them would appear to be wrong, so that they can enjoy equal rights with others.”
Okay. I feel bad here cause I’m just quoting this guy, and my point practically makes itself. This is not some nut. This is the prime minister of Malayasia. The problem, I think, is the way Muslim countries view the world. Again, generalizing. But a good number of them have plenty of oil money. They have backward systems of government, but the leaders obviously aren’t concerned with that. Yet the muslim world has not produced any significant advancement in the past 500 years. They’ve been living in the damn dark ages! But instead of fostering programs for innovative thought, instead of being progressive, they shut the doors, encourage fundamentalism, and blame the whole situation on the Jews! The people are poor as shit in many cases, so how does the government respond? The Jews take the bread out of your mouths! Blame them!
This article I just read online said that the Jews and Israel have become bogeymen. Dead on. These governments look at their problems, look at their stockpile of weapons, and look at their problems again. Of course they advocate violence and want war, because its all they’ve really thought of. They need to think again. And shut that asshole Mathahir right up.
Italy proposed a resolution in the EU parliament condemning the remarks and condemning anti-semitism. Only it didn’t go through. Why? Because it was essentially vetoed. Who would do such a thing? Yep, our buddy Jacques and his flying French ferret friends who felt they needed to pander to the muslim population which is taking over France as the dominant ethnic group.
Remind me again why they’re supposedly our ally?
The entire middle east crisis could have been over long ago if it weren’t for the surrounding Muslim nations. Syria supports Islamic Jihad and Hamas with training camps and is sending terrorists across the border into Iraq, We’ve got Iran training Al Qaeda. We’ve got Egypt smuggling weapons stockpiles through tunnels into palestinian territory (and remember, thanks to our friend Jimmy Carter, Egypt is the second largest recipient of US foreign aid b/c they recognized and tolerate Israel…or something like that). Jordan is essentially a Palestinian state itself, yet refuses to allow Palestinians from the West Bank to settle within its borders. Remember, these are the countries that told the palestinians to join them in driving Israel back into the sea back in ’48. And when they lost…and they lost badly, multiple times…they just abandoned the Palestinians and forgot all about them,
