Political Tolerance, Or: Don’t be a Playa-Hatah
I find it interesting sometimes, the way that the liberal mindset tends to work.
Democrats claim to be the most tolerant party. Then they divide people into little groups, tell them that they’re different and should celebrate their own culture and should remain a seperate little group. Republicans, often termed the most intolerant group, would rather we all drop the damn hyphens and just live as people. That includes responsibilites as well as benefits. Then the Dems bounce the ball back, saying that certain groups are disadvantaged and always will be disadvantaged and that we need to recongize them as a seperate group in order to provide them with the opportunity to one day be integrated economically as well as culturally. And unfortunately, Republicans just won’t accept certain groups as equals, such as homosexuals.
However the path to equality is still one subject to debate, and unfortunately in modern dogma it is held sacred that every “other” should be drenched in money and other priveleges, such as hate-crime laws, in which the life of one man is apparently worth more than the other because there’s less of him in this country. Murder’s murder, irregardless of reason, and the same people who support letting every damn criminal out of jail because they can be “reformed” support jailing for life some redneck idiot who kills another man for looking different. Yeah, he should be jailed for life, but the reason shouldn’t make a damn bit of difference.
Back to my point. It’s been my experience that liberals tend to be much less tolerant of conservative views than vice versa. Frankly I blame the education system today, where of course we learn from liberals because liberals love jobs where they can stand around and spew a bunch of hogwash from their mouths and contribute nothing of value to society. Hence Americorps, the bastion of graduates who have no direction and want to “help their fellow man”, whatever the hell that means. So we get these ideas and are told that in today’s world they are unchallengeable. Kennedy was God, Nixon was Satan, terrorists are nobly punishing the west for its postcolonial sins, etc. Pick something crazy and a liberal probably said it.
However I love listening to liberals. Sometimes they’re amusing little children, and sometimes they actually have something worthwhile to say. Without liberalism, we suffer for progressive ideas. Without conservatism, we have no guidance, and end up wearing shorts on our heads and spanking each other instead of kissing.
Liberals, on the other hand, don’t like listening to me. I’ve dealt with ones that get loud, talk faster to spew more nonsense, and refuse to recognize facts. And Godforbid you start pointing out any facts, like, “No, the Soviet Union only had 2300 diesel subs (I’m making that number up)”, because then they go nuts and get all angry and start mumbling something about free speech and Bush.
That’s another thing. We only disliked Clinton for his horrible mismanagement of every damn branch of government and for lying under oath, which a president shouldnt do even if its about a blowjob. Liberals HATE Bush. They just hate him. They have a variety of reasons, but rather than disliking, they want him dead.
It leads me to conclude that liberals get louder and more rhetorically violent because they know they’re spewing crap. But then that’s just my opinion, I could be wrong…
