Here's an update, since I've now been with Dreamhost for a few months. In summary, I'm still happy with the hosting.

Stability: I haven't had any major downtime like I was having at ASO. There have been small issues, and a few slowdowns, but for the most part the site has been running quickly and without trouble.

Communication and Support: There hasn't been much of a need for communication since everything has been running smoothly. I've only submitted one ticket and it was answered quickly by a real person.

Sheer numbers: Yeah, Dreamhost gives you ridiculous amounts of bandwidth and storage. This lets me do some fun things. I use scripts to automatically perform code and database backups daily and store them in the account. I also keep them locally, of course, but there's so much storage in my account that I could keep daily backups for years without deleting anything. Heck, I could even keep backups of my local system in my DH account.
