I agree...sort of.

Yes, the business model for almost every product and service has changed. Yes, stores like Circuit City, Best Buy, and CompUSA (ehh they suck) are fighting a tough battle. With all of that said I strongly feel Wal-Mart is the wrong model to follow. Period.

It's no secret the reason Wal-Mart can offer no name brands at a cheap price is because
a.) They refuse to offer health benefits and a reasonable living wage to their employees.
b.) most if not all the Wal-Mart brand products are manufactured for pennies on the dollar overseas in China and India.
c.) For some terrible reason local, state, and federal governments continue to offer Wal-Mart Supercenters tax incentives and even grants of over $10,000 at time (even the local businesses of said town or state don't get the opportunities given to Wal-Mart form their own government. That's a whole different discussion though.)

I guess it is important to think of how different other companies could perform if they had the flexibility to cut the cost of televisions at the expense American jobs, health care, and sweat shops. They make up for the lost profit of TV's in the XXXL Marta Stewart sweatpants that cost a nickle to produce and sell for $19.99.

I guess that is just my opinion.

I hate Wal-Mart. I would not shop there if the undead were rising and that was the only place I could get a shotgun and chainsaw. I would rather run them over with my Corolla.

Hey OH!!!!!

Gah.. there's a new Wal-Mart that's currently being built in my little Utah town. They tore up a big, green beautiful field and now it's all lumps of dirt and machinery, etc. like a big zit in the middle of town.

They'll make EVERYONE go out of business with their low prices. After that.. their prices won't be so low anymore. Gasp

Wal-mart is evil, man. Evvill...
