"As for women in the professional workplace, the reason why you don’t see more women in high positions is because no corporation in their right mind wants to hire a person who can get pregnant and be non-productive for 6 weeks to 5 months (with a doctor’s prescription for bed rest)."

That's a bunch of baloney. A good chunk of the high ranking positions in corporations are filled by men in their 50's. By that point, most women are well beyond menopause, and no longer can get pregnant.

In my opinion, the reason why you don't see more women in high ranking positions is because it was within the past 50 years that women began to even become a presence in the workplace. Women have a couple thousand years of history to make up.

Hulk, please up your Ritalin dosage. You went from affirmative action for college males to Christians to Muslims to racism (sic) back to affirmative action.

That's the elephant in the room with this one. People are wondering-how can women be in charge? That can't work. Hell, even I thought it may end in more violence when men won't tolerate a majority of female bosses.

I think the scary thing is not the fact that women are outnumbering men in colleges, but that so many people are worried about it. Some have gone as far to ask "who are all these smart women going to marry?" Funny, no one asked that about men when they made up 70% of college students...

I'm now living in Michigan, which has had more than its share of affirmative-action angst. I still don't know how I feel about it. People who aren't given the tools from the start to perform well enough to get into top colleges will most likely not get there without some sort of system to up their acceptance rates -- but that often means shutting out people who are more qualified. Sticky issue no matter who you're talking about, men, women, ethnic or racial minorities, etc.
